After years of looking for the perfect quick release coupling, i gave up and bought a buncha tools and manufactured my own. Finally a collapsable fire hoop that comes apart and together easily and quickly ! No elastic to stretchout on you or pins to affix.

If there is an interest i will be selling DIY kits for a collapsible fire hoop. All the parts and rigging with instructions to make a fire hoop.

These will be shipped after the burn, if there are enough pre orders to show interest.
i may also be selling the quick release clips by themselves.

I posted this on the hooping tribe to an astounding lack of interest. It's instructions for a collapsible hoop where the sections screw together. It makes for a very stable and secure hoop yet comes apart and goes together easily. The parts cost about $5.00. You could then add spines onto it. Not quite a kit but defintely an easy DIY project. Thanks, Loki. I think this would make a great fire hoop project. Do you know how to add the spines? I'm not the best DIYer on the planet ;)

And as for the lack of interest on the hooping tribe - I was on that thread too. I think people just got so excited when the other girl posted her super easy collapsible version. I think your model is def. the way to go for a fire hoop, though.

Hoola monster- When I built my firehoop I used threaded 1/4 inch steel rod for the spines. I used a T-nut (it has a small threaded section that the rod screws into, and 3 little spikes that poke into whatever you're attaching it to, in this case the hoop) on the inside surface of the hoop, and then had a washer and regular nut on the outside surface to stabilize the rod where it passed through the hoop.
