I am offering a "build your own fire hoop" option on my website www.thespinsterz.com/build_a_hoop.htm and I wanted to get your opinion on the ease of use, feel and look of it.
Does it make sense?
Are there too many options?
Do you think a newbie hooper will be able to select what they want?
overwhelming?
or just right and awesome!?
Price?
thanks for your time,
Brandon

Wed, March 19, 2008 - 12:00 AMAs one retailer to another: Make sure that all your default options are the best choices for beginners. Often, people will buy gifts or whatnot and not know the details. So, maybe preset: 160psi, 3/4", small wicks, etc...

Fri, March 28, 2008 - 1:45 PMI found it very easy to use.
PS- Look my fire hoop from you. Lit it up for the first time last weekend. Now all I want is the bigger wicks! Maybe next year... :) -

Re: Build your own Fire Hoop
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 2:43 PMWhat is the black material at the bottom of your spines?
Do your spines bend or are they brittle? If they don't bend I think
$180 is a little high. The problem with spines that do bend is they break. I've made
all my hoops from the hardware store for much less and they bend. (but are still not perfect)
I also don't think that the tape and glitter is really all that important when your playing fire.
A short fire safety quiz(fuels, spotters, burns) might be a good way to weed through the less experienced liabilities.
Good luck! -

Re: Build your own Fire Hoop
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 1:59 PMI personally like the fact that I was able to get my hoop taped and glittered all puurrdddy because I like to take the wicks off and use it as a regular hoop as well.

Re: Build your own Fire Hoop
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 6:26 PMThe black material at the bottom of the spine is a flexible high temperature rubber.
No it is not brittle, nor does it become brittle in cold weather. I live in the snow and use mine all the time with no cracking or breakage.
